Real Church, Real People, Real Simple.
Dr. Daniel A. Turner,
Lead Pastor
In a time of unprecedented disagreement and confusion about religion, our Lead Pastor, Dr. Daniel A. Turner loves to present the simple message of First Century Christianity —where a relationship with Jesus was more important than a “religion.” Committed to restoring the unity of the church through a return to the teachings of the New Testament, his love for the people can be seen in his encouraging style of preaching, in his challenging teaching and in his personal service to our congregation. “Dr. D” received his formal training at Roanoke Bible College (BA) and Emmanuel School of Religion (M.Div, D.Min). He majored in New Testament studies and Church History and wrote his dissertation about the strength and value small groups bring to a local church setting. He has held pastorates in Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and Ohio. Pastor Dan, and his wife Hazel (a nurse) have three children, Lori (a pastor’s wife and professor in Florida), Gretchen (on staff at OSU, Columbus), and Benjamin (a Senior at Milligan College majoring in computers), three cats, and an ever changing abundance of Russian dwarf hamsters. “It was [Christ] who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up...” Ephesians 4:11
Jerry Snavely, Associate Pastor Youth
My wife and I have enjoyed 17 years in ministry. As I look back on those years I can't help but think of all the people the Lord has brought into our lives. We have been blessed beyond measure with some amazing friendships. For me being a minister is about relationships. First and foremost a saving relationship between us and God through faith in Christ, but it doesn't end there. God in all His wisdom established community among believers that we know as the church. Our goal here at Community is to establish an environment where both of those relationships can blossom into all they can be. If you're looking for a real relationship with God and desire community with a group of people to share life with I hope you will continue to worship with us. Thanks for visiting I hope you had a great worship experience. Jerry and Debra have three daughters, Whitney, Jordyn, and Michaela. In AWE of HIM, Jerry
